Loving a Community

sharing our blessings

Irawo is a place that faces numerous daily challenges for even basic needs; poor infrastructure, planning and neglect resulting in widespread poverty.

Sharing the story of a family holiday to Irawo in 2010 with friends and family stirred hearts and ideas and the realisation that through the Love of Christ a whole community could be met with the support they needed.

Working with Elders and key local people, the best way moving forward was deemed through the GoodNews Project commencing in 2011 after much generosity and planning.

We are a registered UK charity.

About us

The GoodNews Mission comprises a group of people from different churches and nationalities. It started in a family and we have grown but remain as a family to help other families in a place which we all have a passion for. Coming from different backgrounds and cultures we have a common vision and purpose. To carry God's love where He leads and empowers us to so that from our own empowerment, enablement and enriched lives we can see the same happen for others.
  • Vision: Every Person Valued
  • Purpose: Enabling Practical Solutions
  • We are: Enthused by Love
  • Impact: Changing Lives
  • Values: Loving God and One Another

Our programs

School

The experience of these young people in school was no desks, no chairs, few books and sparse materials: and no school dinners. But even more was the need for water and electricity. All of these have been achieved and have ongoing maintenance and supply too.

Community

All the projects we undertake impact the whole community. If we empower the children we enrich the adults and if we enable the adults we empower the children.  Most of the work undertaken has been in partnership with the local community leaders and facilitators in Nigeria who have been our representatives on the ground.

 Water

The biggest challenges have been around the basic needs of the community and through the school, GNM have provided the means for a water tower and solar panels.
